The International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project (ITC) is a major international collaborative effort to systematically evaluate the impact of tobacco control policies.
Professor Ron Borland is one of the four Chief Investigators of the overall project. The others are Dr K Michael Cummings, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo NY. USA. Prof essor Geoffrey T Fong, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada. and Professor Gerard Hastings, Stirling University and the Open University, UK.

Funding
The collaboration began in 2002 and has funding up to 2010 (for at least some aspects of the work).

The ITC Cohort surveys
The International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project cohort or panel surveys consist of broadly representative samples of smokers in various countries; including Australia, Canada, UK, USA, Ireland, South Korea, China, France, Malaysia, Thailand, Mexico and Uruguary.
Other ITC studies
The International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project (ITC) also includes a program of work on tobacco products; more limited work on air monitoring for secondhand smoke, and various aspects of policy.

The International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project (ITC) Data Management Centre is situated at the University of Waterloo in Canada under the leadership of Professor Mary Thompson.
